Cremation of the body

Cremation types

For several years the cremation of a body, an ancient practice for millennia, has become more popular, and since 1963 has also been accepted by the Catholic Church. Special crematory ovens are used to reduce the body and the wooden casket to ashes; these ashes are then collected, sealed inside appropriate urns and entrusted to family members, who can keep them at home, bury them in burial places, in graves, fields or disperse them, according to current laws.

Ashes can be buried in special niches or family chapels, or for some years now it has been possible to disperse the ashes in designated areas, in the mountains, at sea or in other natural environments, in accordance with procedures clearly defined by current regulations.

Contact Onoranze Funebri Morasca, in Rome and our team will give you all the information about cremation procedures.
