Mortuary Passports

Practices for International Transfer of Remains

In the event of a death abroad or for the international transfer of mortal remains, we help the family of the deceased to obtain a Mortuary Passport. This allows the transport of the deceased in one of the member countries of the Berlin Convention like Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, France, Portugal, Holland, Denmark, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Egypt, Turkey, Democratic Republic of Congo (formerly Zaire), Chile and Mexico.

In case the death takes place in a country that is not a member of the convention, our agency helps you take the proper steps to obtain the authorization for the transfer of the remains. This includes involving diplomatic authorities or the Consulate of Italy as well as the country where it took place. For the transition, their signature must be authenticated at the Prefecture.
